Another legend associated with Bodie is that of the town's curse. It is said that anyone who takes anything from the town, even a small rock or nail, will be cursed with bad luck. Over the years, many visitors to Bodie have reported experiencing strange occurrences after taking souvenirs from the town.

Bodie is known for its colourful stories and legends that have been passed down over the years. One of the most famous legends is that of the "Bad Man from Bodie", a notorious outlaw who terrorized the town in the late 1800s. According to the legend, the Bad Man was responsible for a string of robberies and murders in the area, and he was eventually killed by a group of vigilantes.

“Goodbye God, I’m going to Bodie.”⁣
I like a bit of history when I travel and Bodie is a ghost town located in the eastern Sierra Nevada of California. It was once a thriving gold mining town in the 1880s but by the 1940s the town was completely deserted. It has a colourful history, full of gunslingers, prostitutes, robbers and miners with reportedly 65 saloons in town. The town has been left as it was so you can feel the presence of its old inhabitants. It is well worth the visit.
