“Goodbye God, I’m going to Bodie.”⁣
I like a bit of history when I travel and Bodie is a ghost town located in the eastern Sierra Nevada of California. It was once a thriving gold mining town in the 1880s but by the 1940s the town was completely deserted. It has a colourful history, full of gunslingers, prostitutes, robbers and miners with reportedly 65 saloons in town. The town has been left as it was so you can feel the presence of its old inhabitants. It is well worth the visit.
